Sibling Smackdown
July 9, 2009Oh my!! I honestly did not expect my kids to ever argue. I don’t remember arguing with my sister ever, (I’m sure we did–but it had to have been when we were little since I don’t remember it.) So–I wasn’t prepared to deal with the bickering that takes place on a daily (hourly & sometimes minutely) basis in our house. I’m told it’s part of growing up & learning, but it still makes me so sad to hear them argue.
I think Sydney has felt the affects of having a new baby in our house the most–and I’ve really been wanting to do something special with just her. I told her as soon as Carson started sleeping through the night she and I would have a special slumber party. Well that day came & went, but something kept coming up that kept us from having our special night. So—this weekend, we finally did it after the boys were in bed. She planned the snacks, chose the movie, prepared our hot chocolate, grabbed our pillows and blankets & we had a super FUN night. We watched the movie Enchanted and ended up sleeping in my bed for the rest of the night. I fell asleep with her jabbering in my ear about something, but I don’t think she cared. All this to say that it made a huge difference in her overall countenance!! She was a different person the next day–so much more loving & happy after she got that extra TLC.

So fun Kristie! You are an incredible mom to those precious kiddos!
I hear you on the arguing thing. It can be so exhausting!
Love the slumber party idea. That’s such a cute idea. May have to try that sometime…
Good on ya!
Kristie you are such a good mom! Always coming up with great ideas to do with your kids!
